OUR BELIEFS

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He inspired holy men of old to write the Scriptures. Through illumination, He enables men to understand truth. He exalts Christ. He convicts of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Saviour, and effects regeneration. He cultivates Christian character, comforts believers, and bestows the spiritual gifts by which they serve God through His church. He seals the believer unto the day of final redemption. His presence in the Christian is the assurance of God to bring the believer into the fullness of the stature of Christ. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. (John 16:13; John 16:8)

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. It is inerrant and infallible in its original manuscript which is to be taken as verbally inspired. The Bible is perfectly preserved in the text known as Textus Receptus, Received, from which the Authorized King James Version of the Bible is translated. It reveals the principles by which God judges us; and therefore is, and will remain to the end of the world, the true center of Christian union, and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be tried.

Scripture

We believe that Jesus Christ is God's only begotten Son; that he was conceived in the womb of Mary, a virgin, by direct supernatural action of God; making Him true God and true man.

Virgin Birth

Salvation

There is only one way to be saved and that is through Jesus Christ. We must admit we are a sinner and that our sin separates us from God.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12)
“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10)

  • Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners. Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)

  • Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Saviour.

“For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

  • What to pray: Confess. Place all your faith on Christ.

God as Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all powerful, all loving, and all wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ. (Matt. 6:9; John 16:28)

God the Father

Christ is the eternal Son of God. Jesus Christ is God of very God. In His incarnation as Jesus Christ He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus perfectly revealed and did the will of God, taking upon Himself the demands and necessities of human nature and identifying Himself completely with mankind, yet without sin. He honored the divine law by His personal obedience, and in His death on the cross He made provision for the redemption of men from sin. He was raised from the dead with a glorified body and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where He is the One Mediator, partaking of the nature of God and of man, and in whose Person is effected the reconciliation between God and man. He will return in power and glory to judge the world and to consummate His redemptive mission. He now dwells in all believers as the living and ever present Lord. (Heb. 13:8; John 14:6; Acts 4:12)

God the Son

God

There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence and obedience. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being. (John 4:24; Psalm 83:18)

Future things

We believe Jesus Christ will literally return to earth. We hold to the pre-millennium, pre-tribulation, return of Christ; when the dead in Christ shall rise first.

Creation

We believe in the Genesis account of Creation and that it is to be accepted literally and not allegorically or figuratively. We believe that man was created by the direct act of God, making him in God's own image and likeness; that this creation along with the creation of all animal and vegetable life was not due to evolution, or an evolutionary change of species, or development through the interminable periods of time from lower to higher forms.

Eternal security

We believe that all who have been truly born-again by the Spirit of God will persevere; they’re not only eternally saved, but eternally safe, kept by his power and will never be lost again.

Church

We believe that a Baptist Church is a congregation of baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the Gospel, observing the ordinances of Christ governed by His laws, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His Word. We believe that its officers of ordination are pastors or elders whose qualifications, claims, and duties are clearly defined in the Scriptures. We hold that the true mission of the Church is found in the Great Commission: First, to win the lost; Second, to build up the church; Third, to teach and instruct them as he commanded. We do not believe in the reversal of this order; we believe that the local church has the absolute right of self government, free from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; and that the one and only Head of the Church is Christ Jesus.

Satan

We believe in the existence of Satan, the deceiver and god of this present world; that he was defeated and judged at the cross and therefore, his final doom is certain.

Hell

We believe in a literal, burning hell that God prepared for the Devil and his angels; that it is a place of present, everlasting, conscious suffering and punishment of the unbelieving dead. Moreover, we hold that it is the final abode of all living and dead who have not received the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior.

Heaven

We believe in a literal place called Heaven, where God's presence is manifested, where Jesus sits at his right hand and angels are. We believe that it is a place where the Christian goes immediately after death and where all the saved shall be.
